On September 30, 2021, an entitlement application including a Tentative Tract Map, Use Permit and Major Design Review was submitted to the Town for a proposed “Residence Inn boutique hotel by Marriott”. The project consists of a four-story, 101 guestroom, condominium hotel with two levels of understructure parking, a bar/lounge area, outdoor patio seating area, and an indoor pool and fitness center.
- Project plans received September 30, 2021
- Revised plans submitted March 7, 2022 (response to ADP comments)
The Town convened an Advisory Design Panel meeting on January 7, 2022, to review the project as part of the Major Design Review application process. The ADP comments were documented and revisions to the project were made to improve consistency with the North Village Design Guidelines.
- Advisory Design Panel, January 7, 2022
The Planning and Economic Development Commission (PEDC) is tentatively scheduled to consider the project at a Public Hearing on April 13, 2022. The Public Hearing will include a presentation from staff and the PEDC will consider approval of the project at that meeting.
Environmental Review, pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)
A CEQA conformance review is being prepared for the proposed project because the Town determined, in its role as the Lead Agency under CEQA, that the project is in conformance with the previously certified 1999 North Village Specific Plan Subsequent Program Environmental Impact Report (1999 SPEIR), and therefore, preparation of a new environmental document is not required.
