Adult Curling Clinic - Monday, February 3

Get your curl on at the Mammoth Ice Rink on Monday, February 3 from 7-9pm. Learn about one of the fastest growing sports in America and enjoy some supervised match play. Registration is required, limited spaces available. $10 per person, all levels welcome and encouraged to join, must be 18 years of age or older. To register call Kat Kelly at (760) 965-3697.

Instructional Basketball
This free program is open to children in first and second grade to introduce basketball fundamentals.
Dates: February 6 – March 19, 2020
Time: 5:15 to 6:00 pm
Location: Mammoth Middle School Gym
Age: 1st and 2nd grade
Cost: Free – open to 1st and 2nd grade students only
After School Art
Get creative with artist Kelly Turner. Children will be working on their drawing skills. Some instruction but the main focus is on seeing like an artist. Really inspiring, fun still life boxes set up to be drawn with colored pencils, pastels, markers and watercolors. Smocks available. Please send child with water and snacks.

Open Studio
Join local artist Kelly Turner for an open studio session at the Mammoth Lakes Community Center for the first three Monday nights in February. New artists can try their hand at drawing or painting under Kelly’s guidance for $30, materials included. Other artists can join the open studio with their own pieces they are working on whether that be drawing, painting, sculpture, jewelry making, digital art and hang out and collaborate with other artists for $10 per session.

Around Town

Come cheer on your local Nordic teams at their home meet on Friday, January 31 at Tamarack Lodge. Race schedule: Varsity Girls at 11 am, Varsity Boys at noon, Middle School Girls at 1pm and Middle School Boys at 1:30 pm. Bundle up, or not, and support these local Nordic racers this Friday.
Sierra Classic Theatre presents 4 Plays: 4 Days at Edison Theatre this weekend. Thursday: God of Carnage at 7pm, Friday: Constellations at 7pm, Saturday: Closer at 7pm and Sunday Annapurna at 4pm. Get your tickets and scratch that theatre itch this weekend!
Lastly, the Land Rover US Freeski and Snowboard Grand Prix is underway at Main Lodge. Check out this nationally televised halfpipe and slopestyle competition and cheer on our local athletes as they battle it out with the best of the best for $400k in prize money.
